Any suggestions on this one please:

On PC3000 flash and also on Flash for Flash doctors the flash chips are so small they can not be adapted to these devices. Is there any other solution to recover these chips or an adaptor that can be used with them to interface with these two flash recovery devices.

Thanks

So these cards aren't using NAND? What chips are you refering to? Can you post their id?

I'm presuming she means Micro SD or XD cards that have a monolithic device inside. Some XD cards have a "short" nand chip inside, which we can cope with easily, some are just a block of plastic with tiny contact points on, there are a real PITA.

pcimage:

Yes this is what I am referring to. They are so small and can not get them to interface with either device. Is there an interface that can work with these flash recovery devices so that the data can be recovered from them? I need to know how to interface these small plastic blocks with the contact points to read them and retrieve data from them. Any ideas or suggestins please. Or is there another reader that I need to get in order to do this one. I have some XD cards which need to be retrieved. The ones I have do not have a short NAND chip inside of them.

Thanks

like pcimage say monolithic is a PITA. but actually there is still a way to get DUMP data. but u need to manually search the Data pin and connect to your reader to read DUMP file.

For the chips with the short NAND inside is there an adaptor they do not seem to want to seat into the reader so that the data can be read from them. They seem very small and do not go into the two readers very well at all and it is hard to get them to seat inside of here. Any suggestions on how to make the seat into the readers so that I can read the dump files on them and get them to read correctly. Thanks
