Thanks I fixed the typo, "transplanted components to donor PCB and recovered all data" and the short answer is that it depends on the hardware failure.

SanDisks are always fun fun fun :)

Can this place really recover from sandisk hardware failures?

Sir ,
That Website Is Owned By Jeremby "sorry If i Mis Spelled His Name " .He is a Pro With Nand Flash Memories And One Of The Top Users Of Softcenter Tools And Thier English Support Specialist In USA .If I Am Not Wrong He Has also Conducted Some Classes For English Speaking People .

I agree. He is very active in Soft Center forum, he definitely knows his stuff.

As long as the NAND is intact and readable, it doesnt matter if controller is crypted or not. I've done many Sandisk NAND swaps with 0016x-x controllers. Works like a charm. Key is to have working donors for something like this.

Site from link does not work. Do someone have copy?

Jeremyb is owner of this site.

From my experience: I transplant many times controller or nand to other same working PCB, and NEVER works.

Many of information on DR websites is marketing BS.

Maybe NAND was no good in your case, but it really does work.

on encrypted controller you would be out of luck then...

What Controller is it?
Encrypted SanDisk drives are usually 100% recoverable if you know what your doing unless the led blinks endlessly, sometimes you get lucky and it's a bad solder joint but usually the nand chip has been wiped or severely corrupted in those blinking led cases..

P.S: I love how a post about me is titled Is This BS..

I just did the NAND swap on 20-82-00162-2 yesterday and it worked as usual.

20-82-00162-2 is XOR not AES like older SanDisk controllers.

Is NAND from controller 82-00263-1 encrypted?

According to SoftCenter that should be an XOR. I'm pretty sure the 20-99-00128 models were encrypted.

Thanks. Sometimes I forget about the Soft-Center library. Long day.
