ACE released new beta with updated solution for intel ssd last week. I've tried it, works very good! Did you try it? Or you have some unusual case? Anyway i advice you to ask for help ACE tech support. I'm sure ACE has a lot of tips and tricks.
I think you waste your time if you want to find solution for you case. But if you are RE'ing intel ssd just for fun, then i wish you good luck! =) RE is very interesting job, enjoy :wink:

Dont know how about other beta's.. But ACE was looking for the beta testers for intel ssd solution. So if you want to get this beta, just ask tech support about it.

to Doomer
this beta allow you to recover data from intel 320 ssd with bad-ctx issue. It is the second version of this solution. Previous version works too, but usually you got only partial access to user data. It depends on case. Sometime you can extract 95% of data, sometimes 30%. New version of the solution use manual analysis of the translators strucures of the drive and usually allow you to recover about 90-95% of the user data.

In my experience to analyze translator structures, you need to get to translator structures first and they are not always easily obtainable
Also BAD_CTX issue is not one issue it's a group of issues. Some error codes more severe than others
I wonder if the utility was tested on 12x and 15x codes and if it was then what is the %% of recovered data with those codes

Just got some help from Ace with a BAD_CTX 00000130 and recovered 95% of the data. Some files had bad sectors.

13x codes are most common and most easiest ones

Tested on bad_ctx 15A, worked very good! Just some files were damaged. Recovered about 90-95% of user data.

Yes it can be done, and it's an old issue that's been solved for all the variations including NO-CONTEXT errors where the FTL tables are missing altogether.

It's been resolved for almost 1 year now, without the need for ACE/Deepspar hardware.

Since I got flamed for making the same claim about WD smartware in another thread, i'll just leave it at that for now.

To those that have sent me pms. I'm sorry but it seems I can't respond for some reason on a new account. I don't remember the credentials on my old account so I won't be able to send pm replies.

In general for my own business I use ACE hsrdwsre software solutions, but I have used anither company as reseller for a couple of years for intel ssd and other recoveries I can't do.

Aparently they produce their own imaging boards and software. Some odd looking multichip reader using daughter boards for ssd rebuild work.

I've asked them if they are willing to sell their hardware at leasy 3 different times, but they won't budge. Next partner open house I will try to get pictures of it from their display. :)

Also apparently, these probls with 320 series were a rsultbof bad architecture choice of basocally just translplanting previous generation controller that could not properly keep up with demands of smaller NAND die process.

Yes, the Lab I've been to is in Dallas. From what I can tell it's also their HQ as well since their senior staff works out of the office on the first floor of their lab.

BTW Doomer, how is Chicago for computer related business, is their a lot of competition for hardware based Data Recovery?

From what I can tell there's only Seagate/Actionfront. Apparently, the lab I work with just opened a lab there so it must be relatively sparse, though it's tough to tell being a reseller.
