If i short Rom pin i get "ROM reset!" but nothing else. The drive comes ready and Ids as
OCZ-VERTEX4 FACTORY
sn OCZ-0987654321
ROM 0.06
shows full capacity at 238.47gb and access all sectors however data is not correct.

There are jtag pins on bottom connector of the SSD i will explore this later

I guess no one could help you now, i have not seen the solution for your drive yet. So just put aside it, probably solution will be found in future.

Indilinx FW method was nice because the SSD controller handled the ECC and XOR requests in hardware making it VERY FAST..

When I was debugging the my tools I used a SATA protocol analyzer, perhaps through trial and error you can monitor FW update tools for other drives and figure out rom commands / how to inject code.

Don't know the model you've got, but we've had ARM-based 2.5" 128 GB Samsung SSD recently. Chip-off recovery went very good, less than 10 files of 100+ GB were damaged (I believe 2 or 3 actually).

Thanks for the Info Dmitri. The 2 I have were new, so no recovery needed, but using as research for RuSolut. The one I have appears to be Samsung 840 Pro, but OEM'd in a HP EliteDesk (tiny) PC. Model MZ-7PD128M. It is ARM.

Ah yes, the old Jasmine. I had a message to you asking if it was worth looking into for about a year, and deleted it as you hadn't visited in so long I thought you were gone.

I noticed there is a new project "Cosmos OpenSSD Platform" http://www.openssd-project.org/wiki/Cosmos_OpenSSD_Platform

not sure how this will relate to DR, but it looks ultra-interesting anyway. Hope I can afford one.

nope, exceeds US$4,000 for hardware to get setup :(

Save yourself the $$$$... If you REALLY want to dip your foot in FTL development find a retail Barefoot 1 w/ a JTAG debug port on eBay, then solder a header in and use the Jasmine code from the website. Just change the static variables in the FW loader code to the NAND ID and Number of CE and recompile it.

Very simple.. You have the same functionality except no voltage monitoring or ability to connect directly to NAND w/ logic analyzer, i'm not sure about GPIO.. either way, you can get your feet wet.. :-)

I can help with voltage test points, that's all. If that's what you want, then please provide clear, detailed photos of both sides of the PCB.

Yes reaching to test point and figure what can i replace that might bring the SSD from the dead will be great
Help to me.
Also visual check show that D2 led doesnt lit at all, and C140 show color sign of burn.
attaching clear photo as asked

Thank you :-)

Start by measuring the resistance of C140 on the 200 ohms range of your meter.

Then measure the resistances between ground (eg a screw hole) and each of the V1 - V6 test points.

If there are no short circuits or excessively low resistances, then power up the SSD and measure the voltages at V1 - V6.

Results without power to pcb:
V1-20K
V2-short
V3-5M
V4-20k
V5-50ohms
V6-1.6k
C140-short
At this point results should i replace V2 or L6 inductor , C140 and retry the measurements?

Remove C140 and check whether V2 is still shorted.

C140 Removed V2 changed to 30k resistance.

Wow good start now the ssd is with green led on,
but not detected by the bios.(ACHI OR IDE OR SATA)
Should i solder new C140 ,or anything else on the sw can help detect the drive?

Measure the voltages V1 - V6.

V1-2.49
V2-3.28
V3-1.79
V4-2.49
V5-0.99
V6-1.49

Those voltages look OK. The drive appears to have a "firmware fault", ie the controller could be in "panic mode". :-(

You could leave the SSD powered on for a few hours and see if it eventually comes ready, but other than that I can't help you. Sorry. :-(

BTW, it doesn't appear that PC3000 has a solution for your Indilinx IDX400M00-BC controller.

Yes it is not on the list, can PC-3000 be used by every one ?
