Hi,
I have a 128GB SanDisk SSD (SDSSDP-128G-G25) that is a little over two years old. The drive appears to have failed as I can't boot off it. I have tried unsuccessfully to recover files from it.
I booted off a BootMed Live CD and executed dd_rescue to write an image of the disk to another drive. I let it run for several hours but the image file was empty so I broke out of it.
Below is the command I entered and some of the output displayed to the screen before I broke out of it.
sudo dd_rescue /dev/sda /media/Elements/SanDisk128GB.dd

I tried the BootMed TestDisk utility but it received a read error when trying to read the partition table:
TestDisk 6.11, Data Recovery Utility, April 2009 Christophe GRENIER <grenier@cgsecurity.org>http://www.cgsecurity.org
Disk /dev/sda - 128 GB / 119 GiB - CHS 15566 255 63
Current partition structure: Partition Start End Size in sectors
Partition: Read error
*=Primary bootable P=Primary L=Logical E=Extended D=Deleted
I am not sure what to try next. I would appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction. Thanks.
Dave
