No problem my friend , yes u will lose all data inside because we will update firmware of flash drive this means a full format and maybe if u do that , ur files will be not recovered again

If you don't need data, then throw it away. You could never trust it again even if by a miracle you got it to work. The NAND is likely faulty or the drive has some issue that will surely come back.

If you have already run the MP tool, did you go into settings and make sure format flash was not ticked?

I fear the damage has been done on this drive. You should have outsourced it to a Flash Chip-off company.

I'm kind of impressed he was able to remove the USB 3.0 connector and had the foresight to wire it into USB 2.0 mode without damaging anything.. Completely unnecessary in this case but under the right circumstances (obviously not this one) I'd do the same.

I agree with everything HaQue said.

I don't understand if the phison controlloer is a standar type of IC whith a default programmation or it's a special customized IC with unique data inside .

Yuo can find this type or Ic or not ?!

it is a complete computer, call it a microcontroller or whatever. It has CPU, ROM,RAM, Software operating system, programs stored in it.. It has custom firmware in it, plus it has settings/configuration or whatever you want to call it, that has been setup for the specific NAND chip. It is far more complicated than just a processor or any regular microcontroller. Forget just swapping the Phison.

no because in the process of setting each flash drive up, the NAND and Controller is essentially matched to each other. how do you plan to match the firmware, let alone tracking down an exact match. outsourcing it is really the best option

if you can dump it with flash doctor, yes you can send me the dump and I will help you. You don't re-align the hex, but I know what you mean. perhaps go read the documents at Rusolut.com as afterwards you will have an understanding of flash in general, plus you can read a few times to digest the technical aspects. Flash is really a skillset that needs LOTS of experience and good tools. you can do the odd easy thing without 1 or the other, but you will be so limited you wont get far.

be aware the chip is 98 de, but w 98 92, meaning it will be a WL chip, plus possibly DDR. the dump will possibly be problematic on SD flash doctor, I haven't used it in so long I don't know if they support chips like that. According to their website, they support All NANDs "on their birthday" but we all know how much truth is on the Flash Doctor webpage!
