 Post subject: Toshiba Q300 120gb

This disk is one week old, doesn't power up. Where should i check for fails?

Looks like F1 is missing.. May have fallen off?

Sure looks like the space was populated to me.. Empty pads will not look like that after tinning / reflowing..

Hey, I took it out of the enclosure (with void seal) and the F1 was already looking like this :s

It looks odd, but it's normal. U30 is an e-fuse, and D2 is reserved for a TVS diode. The circuit can use either an e-fuse or a regular fuse plus a TVS diode.
