I have been experimenting with various different types and sizes of wire when soldering Monoliths. I find thin enameled wire to be good (0.1nm), but I am concerned that if I don't remove the enameling sufficiently, there may be a bad connection which might be hard to trace. If I use thicker wire which is easier to clean, I am concerned about the connections lifting from the board. Do you guys have any recommendations?

wow, .1nm? ;-) you mean mm... but yes I use enamelled copper wire as well and it is fine. I just roll the wire slowly, scraping the enamel off with a hobby knife blade. the first few times I do it with new wire I do it under the microscope so I can see how well it is cleaning it. But after that I know whats happening and can just do it. I then tin the ends, pre-solder a small amount on the monolith and then a quick touch connects it fine.

other wires you can use are strands from DC power chargers, as that stuff isn't enamelled and pretty thin.

most monoliths I use.2 enamelled wire, some of the ones where you need to solder to Via's, I will use 0.1 - 0.14 strands.

As well as 0.1nm wire, I also use my wife's curling tongues to make it harder :D
Sorry, yes I did mean 0.1mm. Thanks for the help.
@HaQue: you have a PM about a completely different subject when you get a chance.
