Patriot Supersonic Phoenix SSD

Anyone worked on one of these? Worst case scenario, are they recoverable with a chip off. Controller is a Phsion PS2251-01-L.

Never worked on one exactly like that but I'd say yes, good chance of chip-off recovery

I would start by measuring the voltages at the outputs of the two "CC" coils (L6 and L7) near the controller. I expect that these would be the Vcore and Vio supplies.

FYI, the 10-pin component labelled as TVS1 appears to be an array of TVS diodes or ESD protection diodes.

+1 Good chance. But depends on what tool you have.

128GB with 16 x TSOP48 chips?

We have recovered one of these before. Was only possible with Flash Extractor.

Thanks guys. Still working on getting the board to respond. FYI these chips are BGA-60 which PC3K Flash cannot read. VNR say they 'may' be readable. And yes the controller is in the PC3K database, which is good to know if we get to that stage.
