 Post subject: Strange memory chip

Hi,

I got an 8 GB pen with a stange memoy chip as picture attached.

Any idea how can I extract the memory chip to recover data using PC3000?

Find datasheet for controller. Connect to memory chip from controller side.

I'd bet there's a NAND of some sort buried under that blob of tar. Getting it out in one piece might not work so well. Probably best to do what Arvika says.

Thanks for the suggestions but what do you mean by "Connect to memory chip from controller side"?

Remove controller and connect reader to memory chip by wire.

Ok, This is not such a big problem. Check the datasheet for the controller.
