Post subject:  recover data from completely dead phone memory

Good day
i run a phone repair shop. Most often, customers will bring phones that are completely damaged and they would need to recover some important files from the phones.
I thought of removing the memory chip off from the phone motherboard and get the data .
I wish to find out whether there is an equipment that can interface this memories so as to get access to the data?
thanks

as long as chips are EMC, refer to this link, it will help you.

There are several options.
If you want to do this from time to time it would be easier to cooperate with somebody who runs pro data recovery or forensics lab around your area.
If you're ready to develop and run data recovery services as a business, consider professional data recovery tools.

In most cases, chip-off recovery method is useless for data recovery from the phones due to internal hardware encryption.

Not agree. Most cases can be solved. But of course it could change within few months.

Good. If you can solve most part of cases, I would like to send you memory chips from the phones for data recovery. What should be the price?

Martin, please send PM.

I should write also at the beginning: "from my experience". There is few Samsung models which are crypted, some Blackberry (but rare actually) and rare few other models. Probably it will grown in future but so far it is not so bad.

Yes, depends of market. Apple and Samsung have at least 45% of global market, ~ 24% of Apple. You can fight with UFS on Samsung, this is why I said "in most cases", mentioned that Samsung still can be recovered with chip-off method. But on my local market about ~ 75-80% are iPhones. Lowest model I ever saw was iPhone 5 (a single time). All other models are 6/6S/7... etc. I think you understand what does it mean. To be honest there is some solution even for them, but I doubt I can find a customer for such price.
Anyway, I know you are a strong specialist in USB FLASH/ Memory Cards. Hope, in phones as well. Thank you for responce, will sent PM.

Yes, it explain difference in our opinion. Here iPhones take lower % of market, but usually people have backup so we are lucky receive not so many iPhones for recovery(mostly after water damage etc). Most cases is standard smartphone without encryption.
