Hello

Today I got SSD issue with this transcent device. It was working fine then starting last week was making slowing down PC or Mac when connected. Looking at power consumption it doesn look bad, 0.20 amp. When connected to W10, I can see USB interface (Storagejet..). Nothing on Linux or Mac.

The the blue light is flasing when drive is connected, really looks like it's mounting and ready to access but nothing. I guess there's a troubleshooting mode for those drive. I've google it, found nothing interesting. On the forum, I can find similar cases.

Has anyone seen this drive before ? I'll keep searching on google for troubleshooting tips, I need an excel file from this drive.

Thanks
Spot

You can check the voltages at L8 - L11, and L1 and L4.

If you need to bypass the bridge, you can remove capacitors C76 - 79 and make your external SATA connections there. The "ROM mode" shorting points would be either J4 or J5 (J5 looks safe to try).

Thank you so much. I'll give it a try tomorrow, it's little bit late for today. I'll keep you posted.

This is what I measure. What are those L ?

L1 = 1.069
L4 = 1.181
L8 = 1.886
L9 = 3.998
L10 = 1.905
L11 = 3.339

The "L" components are inductors. They form part of a DC-DC converter which converts the +5V supply to lower voltages for the main ICs.

    L1 = Vcore for Asmedia USB-SATA bridge
    L4 = Vcore for SM2258XT controller
    L11 = 3.3V supply for NANDs ?

L9 (4V) looks out of place, but I don't know what it could be used for.
