Post subject:  Hard Disk turned on but not mounted.

Hello.
I have a WD passport 1TB and it have a problem. When I plugged it to system, The LED turned on but not drive mounted or...Hard Disk hase sound like rattle and I guess it is not OK.
When I use "lsusb" command in Linux, the output show me that "WD" detected but no drive mount. How can I create an image from it?
Any idea?

Thank you.

Then why you keep hammering the drive, and why is still plugged to power
I really hope its your drive and your data (not from a client)

At this stage I think you can not, need proper diagnostic, and take care of the problem first.
if data on it is valuable, stop hammeing the drive, unplug it from power, and send it to a DR pro

Can WD provide any tool for diagnostic?

You don't get it ???
If the drive has an internal problem as described:

There is no software in the world who can help you
+ if you keep hammering it and the data might be unrecoverable for good

Trying to "fix" a failing hard drive using software, is like asking your mechanic if he can fix a blown engine by just plugging his diagnostic computer into the port of the car.

Can't fix hardware with software.
