Here is a DIY development kit (US$22). Perhaps you could ask the seller for firmware and hardware development tools or documentation? SSD PCBA Kits, SSD DIY, Flash Memory Interface BGA152/132, SM2246XT H AA, SATA6Gb/s Interface, SM2246HX, 4CH 4CE 4-LAND NAND Flash https://www.aliexpress.com/item-img/SSD-PCBA-KITS-SSD-DIY-PCBA-Flash-Interface-BGA152-132-SM2246XT-H-Controller-SATA6Gb-s-Interface/32543701998.html |

The development kit has similar test points (ROM, ISP, HWP). These kits are useless without docs or software tools. That's why I suggested that the seller may have documentation that could help you. |

FWIW, SanDisk's Z400S SSD has a JTAG edge connector (J1) plus a single pair of ROM pads. Perhaps the ROM pads are the answer? http://pc.zoznam.sk/plextor-m6v-vs-sandisk-z400s-aky-vplyv-na-vykon-ssd-ma-dram-cache?page=2 |

I'm wondering whether a general method that could apply to all flash based devices would be to short the NAND or controller R/B* pins (open drain) to ground during power-on. I have recently seen one SSD that does it this way. |
