I rarely get any customers that use a Mac, but today was one of those occations.

Long story short; the owner spilled coffee in the computer so it will not boot anymore. She's not interested in the computer, but the contents of the hard drive are of importance. She asked me to simply clone the drive.

It seemed to be not very easy, since the SSD used a form factor I haven't seen before:

Finding an adapter for this SSD seems to be tricky. Does such device even exist, or are these SSD:s Apple-special(tm)?

You'll need about a dozen or so adapters to be able to read the SSDs from all of the apple computers out there. They seem to have a new one every six to eight months. This site here seems to have adapters for nearly all of them (including some of the odd ones): http://www.microsatacables.com/drive-ad ... sd-adapter

Edit: I see Frank already directed you to that site.
