Kingston HyperX SSD Locked!

September 19th, 2017, 3:16

Hi guys,

I bought on Internet an used computer with an SSD drive (Kingston SH103S3120G). First of all, I upgraded the firmware to the last one and then, I rebooted the machine. In POST, my MB asks me for a password to unlock the drive. I tried to put de SSD in the old computer and doesn't ask me for a password but it's unable to boot and, for example, to install Windows on it because the installation programs says that it's not possible to install OS on this drive. Well, the thing is that since I upgraded firmware, the ssd seems to be locked and the old owner said that he never configured a password on it. Is there any "standard" password on these cases? Do I have any chance to unlock it?

Sorry for my english. Have a Nice day!

Thinking about it, I will try to put this SSD on the original computer as a secondary drive and install Windows in a conventional HDD and then, try to unlockit...

I have to say, and sorry for writing to many posts, that I DON'T NEED THE DATA INSIDE. I can perform perfectly a secure erase if this will help me unlocking the drive.
