Maybe you could start with a freshly imaged drive, run the Truecrypt recovery boot disk/tools and select full decryption.
No, I've tried fully decrypting a new clone from the TrueCrypt rescue disk and the result is the same, the drive isn't bootable and most files are missing. It looks like the dd backup stopped backing up useful data after a certain point. Please see attached for an R-Studio screenshot.
So I'm thinking the dd backup is useless and will need to go back to looking for solutions with the original drive.
