Hello!

I aquired a couple of HGST/Hitachi SAS SSD drives that are from an old EMC device.

The sticker on the drive says it is HGST model HUSMM1616ASS201 with firmware B250
Smartctl information tells it is Hitachi HUSMM111CLAR1600 revision C250.

So my problem is that I cant get these drives to work with my server, it does show up with lsblk but most formatting operations give me an error about operation not permitted.
I have tried to find information about this and found most similar problems were related to the 520 byte block size but this drive already is 512 bytes.

Maybe my problem is the firmware that uses some kind of drive protection? I am not familiar with drive flashing, where would I find the firmware that enables "normal" behaviour of the drive or is my problem something else entirely?
