Post subject:  Toshiba THNSN2256GSPS totally dead

Hi Sirs,

I received this SSD. Connected to adapter (PCI card) no signals of life. Completely dead, not recognised at all. I double checked the adapter with another SSD, adapter it's ok.

Electrical issue (if yes where to check) or Controller issue?

Thanks in advance

Max

Did you ever find the cause for the SDD failure? I see the recommended test points, but not the specs for voltage. I have an identical drive which seems dead too. It just gets hot. I can't see any physical damage to it.

Thanks for any information

AFAICT, THNSN2256GSPS is a PCIe SSD. If so, then it won't work with a SATA adapter. Is that your problem?

I have the exact same problem on the same drive. You say to check V1-V4, what should they be normally?

I don't know their actual values, but I know they shouldn't be 0V.
