Hello,
I attempted to reformat a brand new Toshiba DTB310 1TB SSD hard drive and now all I am getting is an error when attempting to format.

(image link for error: https://www.evernote.com/l/ABFOUXo3C-tK ... yXVF0TIuPQ )

I wanted to reformat from ExFAT to FAT32 so that my ASUS would recognize it for NAS, but no luck.

I have searched and searched the internet for fixes, but simply cannot find any advice on how to rectify this. Hopefully the very smart folks here can point me in the right direction. I am willing to pay someone (reasonably) for doing a screen share session to work through this.

thank you in advance!
-bryan

Not an SSD that model is a regular Canvio 1TB external drive. You can use fat32format under a cmd window (https://fat32-format.en.softonic.com/) to overcome the limitation of fat32.

Wells that's great. guess I was duped on buying a SSD. but at least this one is still pretty quiet (compared to my old hitachi that is just loud and annoying when it's reading/writing.)

So, thank you for the recommendation on the software, but I am on a Mac and the error I listed (pic link) above is preventing me from completing the erase/format. Any suggestions from that standpoint? I don't really have access to a PC at this time.

Can you check the disk health status and post the screenshot here?

while waiting for my screen shot and screen share video to be approved, here is the output of disk health:

Repairing file system.
** /dev/rdisk2s1

Invalid BS_jmpBoot in boot block: 000000

File system check exit code is 8.
Updating boot support partitions for the volume as required.
File system verify or repair failed.
Operation failed…

after attempting what I did in the screen shot (not the video) now the drive shows up, but there is not anything below Toshiba

Check it with HDDScan or CrystalInfo and post back the results.
