Looking For The Best Recommended SSD!!

July 10th, 2019, 6:00

Hello all,

I am an avid gamer and love to play games like Rust and ARK: Survival Evolved. One of my biggest problems is that I have a hard time loading into the game and loading data while I'm playing the game. I decided that I wanted to get an SSD, but not a super expensive one because I will soon be losing time to use my PC anyways. I need an SSD that can have one or two games on it to help me load faster and make my experience better.

I would love some recommendations for good SSDs, no more than 256 GB. A variety of price ranges would be greatly appreciated as I am not trying to spend more than $200.

Probably a Troll, due to the wording... but anyway:

1. look at SSDs available to you for under $200
2. Read some reviews
3. Buy one you think people say will be good enough

really, it doesn't matter that much, but one with RAM on board better, something like Samsung EVO seems popular.

Whatever you buy, create a drive image once it's set up so when it dies, you just restore to a new SSD. I usually buy at Canada Computers and my preferred brands are ADATA SU800 (good), WD 3D (better), Samsung EVO (best). My colleagues also like Crucial as one of the better-best.

If money is not a problem, and if data security is high on the list, I would choose an SSD that has power loss protection.

Questions to ask: How long has the company manufacturing the SSD been in business. How long is the warranty for the SSD. Compare it against it's peers and you'll get your answer.
Higher numbers = better..
