supply voltages are worth checking at the large cap - inductor nodes, but most likely the failing component is exactly the NANDs. I would check the ata status register as well, and try reading ID if the thing comes ready at all, but i suppose you have no ways of doing that without special equipment or going into sw development. (MHDD can display it for drives detected during POST, not sure if it can do it if the unit does not come ready at all, but i have ideas for that too) pepe |

yes. and if it gets detected with 'safe mode' shorted, then it is almost surely NAND related. |
