Chinese Brands - Dominating Indian SSD Sales [New Chipsets]

July 5th, 2022, 3:57

Friends ,
Acelab is focussed on few chipsets in SSD data recovery ,I came across a few chinese brands that are heavily dominating the Indian SSD sales ,I would like to ask my friends in india and other countries how is the sales of SSD in your countries ,Like in india we have Silicon Motion , Phison and now some other brand chipsets ,These chipsets are just not supported by the tools ,Does anyone of you know anything about this ...

PS : You can even get a SSD manufactured by chinese guys with HDDGURU written on it

Brand : Consistent " India Company Selling Under its Branding "
Chipset : RTS5733DLQ
Research : Company is Realtek

The latest update from acelab is here -> https://blog.acelab.eu.com/pc-3000-ssd- ... dated.html . No Support for SSD's that are heavily dominating sales .Also friends does some of you have a tool to identify these working or non working SSD/s so that we could see the chipset without opening the SSD in general .

Yes, I did, it was just an example. No it's not a data recovery tool indeed, basically a MPTool like the ones for UFD's. Basically anyone can poop out an SDD with custom firmware/parameters.

I suspect that the PCB may be a reference design.

Yes ,
That could be ,the reason is that so many factories are producing the same stuff be it SM ,phison or this realtek .While googling i read that some of the firmware in this realtek are buggy .I did see a factory tool i think from SM that did have a data recovery option in its last tab ,I remember one of the pro data recovery guy here on hddguru boasting about recovering that particular series of SM SSD's " though in reality it was that they were using that tool " .

I find it strange that there is an unpopulated DC-DC converter with an output labelled "DDR1V8". This suggests that the PCB can support an optional SDRAM. However, there is no space reserved for a DRAM. Alternatively, if there is a version of the controller with an embedded SDRAM, I would have expected to see an unpopulated 1.8V bypass capacitor near the controller, but this doesn't appear to be the case, either.

Have you tried dumping the chips to check for encryption?

Perhaps such a weak controller dismissed that feature.

RTS5732DLQ encrypt the data so chance that RTS5733DLQ will too is high.

This appears to be the same PCB design, but with an RTS5735DLQ controller and no external "ROM":

Hi !
I have the same pcb SSD. My is: KingFast F10.

I have 7.1 pc3000, but still i can't load fw(loader). I'm getting error : Sector read error(LBA: 21 930); HDD DMA RQ timeout (10000)

Did you resolved that case?
