I have a 2GB USB Flash Drive that uses the Silicon Motion SM321BB controller. Recently I tried to make the USB drive bootable by using the BootDisk2BootStick program. After trying to write a floppy image onto the drive (which didnt work), the drive is unaccessible. Windows device manager still shows the disk, however in Disk Management, the drive shows up as "Not Readable". The drive cannot be formatted.
Trying to use the HP USB Disk Format Tool, the device is recognized as "USB MEMORY BAR 1000 (1 MB) E:\" When the Start button is pressed, an error "There is no media in the specified device" is shown.
What is wrong with this drive? How do I fix it? There is no important data on here, so recovery is not an issue. I just want to be able to use the drive.
Any input appreciated.
