What do you mean by firmware? The ROM on the PCB or the SA on the platters? How did you lose the old firmware? What do you plan to do with the new firmware?

I'd say that you are likely better off stopping now and sending it to a professional lab before it is too late, if it isn't already....assuming that you want to get the data off the drive. Otherwise, just buy a new hard drive.

In the off chance that you just want to play, you have a huge battle against you.

At the very least, if you want the firmware for this drive, you are going to have to specify the exact firmware version that was lost.
