Hi all -

I require LDR (and other files) for Maxtor Fireball3 (Ares 64K) 40GB Fluid Bearing
2F040L0-VAM51JJ0-B6FFA(?)-F1QE1ME

looks like firmware area is damaged. drive is reporting as "Maxtor0ARES C64K...."
cannot read from drive.
I've done a stack swap to rule out heads, platter looks ok (no rings)
Electronics appear ok (pc3000 diags pass ok)

Why would you do a head stack without trying a loader first? That's like replacing a cars engine because it ran out of gas. What pc3000 diagnostics were you able to run without a loader? I suggest you send the pc3000 back to china and get your money back.

Hehe... spot the learner-driver

I'm working on the boss to spend the $$ on upgrading our PC3000(ISA...) - which i think it is the chinese one too :(
It's in the PC beside the one with the HRT card
