I am thinking this is either heads (most probably IMHO) or some problem with motor. But i think heads.

Heads problem > 80%, I had some similar cases with the same sympton.

It's heads or platter damage. Latter occurs quite frequently on this model.

I have the same problem. while I tried to work with PCB only, and got the same error. Does it mean something wrong with ROM?

Hi,

This problem is related to heads on most of the cases.

Besides that, head swap does not work on a lot of cases, because there are different head types for this drives, so you must know which head type your drive and donor have.

Yes, indeed. dmarques is right. Most cases involved head replacement, but very tricky :mrgreen:

I've got a case with this same RW Err = 84150180 today. I'm assuming it's bad heads/preamp, but if there's something else I should know please do tell.
