Hi,

I hope you are doing great.

Behavior:
1. I have this MAXTOR which had the PCB power issues and before going to die the PCB it was giving the same error message of not able to start utility with message: Initialization error, Context: Read Roadmap, Content: Device Error Detected
2. With the new PCB (donor HDD or donor PCB (different one)) it is giving the same behavior.
3. Patiente HDD spinning sound it is very loud compared to a new one.

If it's much louder than the donor, then likely it's one of two issues.

1. The bearing is not spinning freely and it's not getting up to speed (less likely)
2. The read/write heads are severely damaged and are scraping the platters.

Do you have a clean room to open and inspect inside the drive?

+1 for heads, do not power up before internal inspection.
