Hi guys,

I've this WD10JMVW that giving me some issue. It initialized correctly/ fully, HDD ID is correct and SA is accessible but data area is not.

Head test shows Head# 1 is giving problem. Followed through http://blog.acelaboratory.com/ram-head- ... -case.html guideline, changed head map in RAM to 0 0 2 3 without avail.

Tried it in DDI 4 imager, skipped Head# 1 and it shows Read Timeout for all sectors. Matter of fact, it shows Read Timeout no matter which head we skipped.

Attempts to regenerate Translator throws following error

Translator regeneration

Regeneration method..................... : Use P-List only
P-List Copy 0........................... : Ok
P-List Copy 2........................... : No copy exists
P-List Copy 3........................... : No copy exists
Error Code : 3C1D....................... : FMT ERR FLIST WRT FAIL

Module check show the mod 31 is good though. Found this https://forum.hddguru.com/viewtopic.php ... 95&start=0 in the forum. Is this something that I can attempt on this HDD?

Thanks in advance.

Best Regards,
Darecom

Hi guys,

We found the problem root cause, it is not the "FMT ERR FLIST WRT FAIL" that stopped us from accessing sector but rather the SED locked issue. Followed through http://blog.acelaboratory.com/pc-3000-h ... rives.html and had it decrypted.. imaging the drive without Head# 1 now.

It is the hard drive family ~ FBlite, that remind me of SED locked issue, which PC3k didn't indicate it.

Best Regards,
Darecom
