Looking through the manual, when should I send a drive a soft reset vs a hard reset? Is there an ELI5 version of what the SRST bit is in relation to "drive interface circuit?" |

There is no specific rule. Matter of fact, besides obviously the surface condition, it is more drive model/family related. You will see trends of specific drive behavior, which typically will result in more or less specific imaging parameter settings. The default settings in general are a good start. |
