Hi Guys,
Drive came with a burned PCB. So I Build ROM image from SA and now the drive IDs fine and gives DRD DSC. I was able to back up all Modules both copies. When I try to access sectors it opens the LBA0 but when I try to check the rest it goes BSY DRD DSC and never comes back to ready again. I did slow responding soln but still nothing. Any idea how to go about it?

Sounds like translator problem
Since you have a backup of the SA
Try to regenerate the translator

Thanks jermy for the reply. I did Translator regen. I get access to user partitions now but everyother LBA gives readyness loss or an error. But everyother LBA is read good. Whats the best way to go about imaging without killing the drive permanently?

I checked both heads manually and they both write good. Could it be media damage?

Did that too..but will try it tomorrow and tell you the result...time difference
