WD Marvell: "DISK SERVO ACTUATOR AI FATAL ERROR"

August 13th, 2017, 20:34

Working on a WD Marvell drive. Backing up resources in PC-3000, got most of the way through normally, but when it got to backing up SA tracks it is giving:
Reading service tracks
Into folder............................. : <HDD Profile>\Data\SABackup\Tracks
Reading heads........................... : 0,1
Cyl -256; Head 0........................ : Ok
Physical read error C/H/S: -256/1/1 - Device Error Detected: "DISK SERVO ACTUATOR AI FATAL ERROR"
Physical read error C/H/S: -256/1/2 - Device Error Detected: "DISK SERVO ACTUATOR AI FATAL ERROR"
...
with the sector number increasing each time. I can't find out any information about this error. My assumption would be that it is backing up heads 0 and 1. Head 0 gave OK status so maybe an issue with Head 1? The error also says the disk servo actuator AI fatal error. And the servo would be the same for all heads, so I'm not sure. Any ideas are appreciated.

Well,
Reading down section of platter 1 that is head 0 is good enough do not focus on head one .Can you read modules of head 1 if yes do not bother if no then might be head 1 is physically kaput
