Hello everyone

This drive on pic is password protected by Western Digital's own software. When I connect drive to PC it just shown like CD and there is a application ask you password to reach data. When I examine inside of the drive with FTK there is just zeros.

And question is: If I change PCB with ROM desolder/solder can I access to user data. Because I think password program is working on PCB. Do you have any idea?

The SmartWare password is on the platters, beyond the visible user area.
