 Post subject: como isolar os bad blocos defeituosos reduzinhdo o hd de 500

ola pessoal sou novo no ramo. eu fiz um colega meu comprar uma pc 3000 e peço socorro para vcs, como é que eu isolo a parte ruim do hd, por exemplo se ele é um hd de 500 e tem 100 gigas espalhado ruim eu isolo os 100 gigas ruim assim transformando ele em um hd de 400 gigas

It typically depends on where the bad blocks are.
For example, are they linearly? If so, you can set max LBA to a spot that excludes those bad sectors.
Otherwise, it is more complicated and it depends on the drive model. Would involve working with defective lists.

It depends from drive to drive ...

Some drives do support head test on PC-3000.

If you do a surface scan sometimes on some drives it's very simple to find bad head(s) by analyzing the results of the scan.

Also some drives do have tendency to have problems with dying heads, etc ...

Start by learning how to properly test a drive :

Testing hard disks with some confidence :

Read this as well as it's related to how to spot bad head(s):

Cloning/Imaging a drive using Head Maps :

For example even without any specific vendor utility you can use PC-3000 to do head map and try to read selected heads, etc ....

It should be easy to test a drive by head(s) to see if a particular head is gone or not.

With time you will find models and brands that do tend to have bad heads more than the others ....
