Hi sempre,

please don't think am rude here

but if you don't know what is the function of 00290139 by this time
in the year of 2007 then maybe it is time to find another career path,
really.

00290139 is P-List (Factory defects list) and by the procedure
of "regenerate translator" you can re-create this "module" and
others
IF and ONLY IF "module" #33 is intact and
IF and ONLY IF
the media in the SA will allow this procedure to complete without
flaws.

Location: In ur HDD !
If the drive makes knocking sounds there is suerly a head issue u can find a matching donor and transplant the platter to recover data .
And as u said that even after writing the modules that are bad they dont seem to repair so that means that the head is not writing properly .

Sempre, on this HDD the heads read´s under the platter , so there´s no problem if u get a finger print on this side, but if u had some scratch on the SA, under the platter u could be get some problems , i find one of this Maxtor slimline with a head crash, the only way its lef´s the platter with handle and a clean enviroment, if this hdd was checking by another people, maybe they tried the platter swap, and believe or not, some people left the platter on the another side.

Best Regards

Alberto
