Hello,

How can I do for passing the tech commands ?
It's SATA controller of WD RAPTOR WD1500ADFD drive.
I jumped SSC-SEL, PM2 and OPT1 -> After power on drive switched to ready status, but when I want to read ROM I can't change ROM.
I read that short circuit one point with GND and it'll work. (but wich point ?)

Regards

Misioux

Do you have PC3000 UDMA? Other tools can't work with Raptors.

Well
this drive is with WDC CPU but to get ROM utility need to use Marvell-based commands BUT it could be the Acelab utility has common error in SCT commands and will not be able to get ROM from drive with WDC CPU

Hello,

Thanks for your answers.

I want to re-change the head map, because after modifing the first time drive click.
So I want to return native configuration, and I don't know how to do without PC3000 utilities.

How can I do ?

For safe-mode on SATA WD drives you need to put 3 jumpres close to interface connector not to power connector like on PATA drives

If you was able to re-write ROM the first time you will be able to re-write it in second time with the same utiliy

Hi,
ROM size is 128kB, or more than 128kB...?
In new WDC drives ROM size is 192kB
PC3000 UDMA reads only first 128kB of ROM...

Hello,

I jumped board has you said, but when I power ON, busy light green during 2 sec and after light off. I tried to read ROM without success.
The first time I modified ROM, I start drive in Normal mode, Now when I start drive in Normal mode drive click.
I used PC3000 UDMA ver 3.2.1.
