These Excelstor are just Hitachi drives with slight changes,

Try manually entering various IBM/Hitachi utilities, until one picks up the service data.. Assuming the drive is working at all.

That's right!
First of all, depend on what you would like to do with the drive, or if it's damaged or not.

They also come in WD flavour.

It seems Excelstor pick out the crappiest drives and find some way of making them even crappier....

I think MDT are actually refurbished WD mostly, unlike Excelstor which are new (but crappy) drives.

Nikimi were refurbed Maxtor/Quantum as far as I remember, now they WERE pieces of s##t. ;-)

It is not supported by PC3000 UDMA.. please check list of supported models ..

try to use PC3000 ISA instead..maybe old drive can be used with that.. i got one too.. and the previous model..conner technology

hi,

excelstor drive almost like or u can say they just refurbishing hitachi /ibm and name it EXCELSTOR..

u can change manually in pc3000 and u can test drive..
drives are not good in coniditon like MDT or NIKIMI .. also not stable for working..

they only change name and model inside with new sticker and selling like malaysian companies..
