Hello. I am trying to replace the original HDD (IBM IC35L018VWDY10-0 ultra320 SCSI, 18.2 Gbytes capacity) of one IBM x205 computer (type 8480, model 22X). The SCSI controller/video board is a "M51G Extender Card 01364-1 48.55F02.011" and has an Adaptec AIC-7892B chip (labeled as U12). The HDD I would like to install is: IBM DNES-309170 (IBM part number 25L2143, 9 Gbytes capacity), so I purchased a little printed circuit board that serves as a passive adapter. However, the adapter's jumpering instructions are not enough for me. I realize I know nothing about SCSI, and I did think it was just a matter of purchasing the adapter and moving some jumpers here and there (I actually have left the eight jumpers settings as came originally, so no jumper settings have been changed yet. In spite of this, the DNES-309170 was not recognized by the computer's BIOS). The adapter has four connectors (1.- 4 pins power: +5V, +12V, ground. 2.-50 pin male SCSI 3.- 80 pins female SCA 4.- 68 pins female SCSI). Please, I would like to know what the settings of the adapter should be, to make the DNES-309170 disk be recognized. The adapter is "SCA 80-Pin Female To 50-Pin Male/68-Pin Female Adapter SCA-80F50M68F" and was purchased at an online store. Your help is appreciated. Thanks.

The eight jumpers are labeled this way: LED, SYN, DLY, MTP, ID3, ID2, ID1, ID0

Thanks!
