Hello, hddgurus. Excuse me for my English, I'm good in reading but not in writing.

I have some Samsung HDD, which has clicking of the death.

I connected to its Serial Diagnostic Port and have this messages:
Code:
[SHOS2:|.▒". HPC:33607398*PA VID=0007 PN=0000 Rev=0004

Unlatch Fail
Software unloading!
PK_4 C: 0 H:0
Software unloading!
PK_4 C: 0 H:0 (Here HDD stops to try moving heads)
LED 110B (Repeat every second)

Then we opened HDD to view a VCM. There was some small lever, that should open a pass (it try to) for heads. But it can not do this and as following it stuck heads.
So, I just pushed it a little bit, so heads can move on. After that I had this output from serial terminal:

Code:

Heads are suspect IMHO, probably damaged when stuck or when you released them.

I would shine up the HDA contacts with a soft eraser just as a precaution.

The drive failed to read 3 copies of the RLIST on heads 0, 1 and 2. The RLIST module is the list of reallocated defects. The drive also failed to read two (all?) copies of the DRM and SMaRT modules.

Samsung Modules List :

You may be able to clear/rewrite the RLIST (aka ALIST) by following this thread:

Thank you for your answers.

No, I'm not even 1% sure that heads are not defective. But it moving normal when I remove "stucking condition". And I was as gentle as possible.

I think first of all we should replace a heads. We are looking for recepient now.

Well,
All youtube videos look so easy .IMHO always change to new heads after releasing heads as i have seen very few heads that look kinda ok under a scope after removing headstuck condition
