I recently damaged the Controller of this HD! (Is it called the pcb Controller?)
> I mean the print, fixed with 5 Torx on the HD.... (you know what I mean)

What I did before:

I Carefully removed the 4 pin band from the Board, to use this Controller for another (IBM) HD.
Expecting to work..... But with no success, as you can imagine. Silly fault!

And now, the HITACHI doesn't mout at all again!
So I can't see the HD in any Bios therefore. (BTW, I'm Mac User, and I used it in an External FireWire Unit)

When I plug the Power to the HD, it makes only electrical noise, beating in a secondly period. Like: Zzzzt, Zzzzt, Zzzzt....
But the drive doesn't mount.

I'm a newbe in this business - But what would the professional ppl. here tell me?

.... That I shoot my HD?
What should I do now, to get on my old Data?

Buying a simular one, maybe? That's why I'm asking here....

I know, if I'll send this unit to HITACHI, I'll get probably a replacement, but I'll loose my Data for sure!
And that's what I don't want to!

Thanks for any suggestion or help!
