Anyone who owns a PC3000 UDMA can recover data from it. The adapter comes with a purchase of UDMA

If you're just doing logical recovery, could you make do with something like the following?

StarTech IDE1810U2Z Aluminum 1.8" USB 2.0 External Hard Drive Enclosure:

Thanks for the link fzabkar- it says ceata zif/lif ; but there is no picture inside to actaully show whether its the smaller in width cable than the ordinary one.

I shall call e-buyer(uk associate of that site)- maybe somebody will be able to tell me. It should be good for use with logical recovery..
Or ill just buy it and see.

Hi, Do you need the 1.8" CE ATA to 3.5" IDE and 2.5" adapter? If so, I have it, :)

Thanks,
Eric

Ah at last!

Its like this is it?

The zif cables are the ones you can buy everywhere for like the 1.8" Toshiba Apple drives or another.

Please notice this Samsung is almost 1/3 of the size and its CE technology.

Thanks.

What is not accurate- the MMC part or the SATA part.

Or both?

Do you have the pinouts for YPM09657 Marvel chip?

The SATA part. Samsung's data sheet clearly states that hs161jq has a CE-ATA interface which is based on MMC. That said, there is a think-outside-the-box solution that does not require adapters at all...

I know- that's what i have been following the whole time after MMC. That's why this sata plug surprised me.

God. why is my box so blingin big...

Only thing i can think is use the ATA version of the pcb. But i assume that is not straightforward swap either..

that's ZIF ATA/100 if you got an IPod replace the drive , IPod usb connection works as ATA convertor .
you might need a $20 micro sata => normal sata depending on your recovery case .
Those ZIF connectors on pcb are mostly designed for max 15 time connect/disconnect.

That is for regular ZIF. CE-ATA is different.
