This drive failed.. Turned off the PC in the evening, the next morning.. Click of death.

drive spins up, clicks for about 15 seconds, then spins down. It is recognized by the PC's bios.

SN: 9VS17Q2H
Model: ST31500341AS
PN: 9JU138-302
Firmware: CC1H

If anyone wants it for parts, let me know. (what is it worth?)

USA shipment only.

I am not a professional.. Just a hobbiest. I have done nothing to the drive except remove the PCB, clean the contacts that engage the spindle motor and the head stack, and put it back together. I did not open the drive.

You are going to replace damaged heads with damaged heads lolol

Only thing that you will be able to use is the PCB ..

A good sign that this person is not qualified to do a head change.

lololol

:D :D :D

This is a JOKE !!!!

First person - OP - was saying that he have a broken drive for sale, that is clicking. He is asking if someone wants to buy that broken drive and how much they will pay for it.

2nd post is from someone most likely playing a joke as he states that his drive is clicking and so he needs the broken heads from the first drive.

I'm pretty sure that the 2nd poster knows very well that he can't use the broken heads on the first poster drive on his (most probably ficticiouse) drive with broken heads. There is a "LOL" at the end of the statment as well.

:D :D :D

It was a joke, almost for sure.
