I've decided to sell my Bandura.

You can read about its many features at http://bandura.atola.com.

I bought it for its data recovery capabilities, since it quickly and automatically diagnoses the hard drive's circuit board, read/write heads, firmware, media and NTFS file system. The Bandura is very fast and does a great job of recovering data from drives with bad sectors. During operation, it automatically issues soft-, hard- and power-resets when the drive becomes unresponsive because of bad sectors. With ddrescue, you would have to power-cycle the drive and restart the recovery.

It's in like-new condition, having been used only 6 months before I got my DPP USB 3.0 imager and only occasionally after that. I'm asking $1,260 USD, which is 33% less than the $1,890 USD I paid for it in July, 2013. Cost of shipping is additional, to be determined once the buyer's destination is known. Purchasers in Canada to add 13% HST.

I just noticed your 13% tax

The HST must stand for Holy Sh!@ Tax!

I guess they have to pay for that free healthcare somehow up there.

Hahaha. Never thought of it that way, but that says it all. I just don't use the Bandura enough to keep it hanging around as a back-up.

Ive got one. Work absolutely fine for drives that have a bit of an issue. Ours gets used for drives with some unreadable sectors but nothing too horrendous. Great for wiping drives 2 at a time as well.

I've found the Bandura especially easy to use for a novice like me, *very* fast, and effective at recovering data from drives with bad sectors. I especially like the menu system, where I can tell it how many passes to make and thereby use the best strategy in terms of time-outs and number of sectors to skip when errors are encountered. That's a feature I've been trying to get Dolphin to incorporate into their DFL-DE and DDP imagers (to compliment their comprehensive menu of choices).

I think it's a shame Atola discontinued the product, as it's perfect for PC repair shops where the techs are not necessarily proficient with ddrescue and the business is not ready to spend the big bucks on a DDI (which also requires a fair bit of training to use to maximum effectiveness). A junior tech can put the Bandura to immediate use after spending just a few minutes with the manual and then get to work on computer repairs while the Bandura does its thing.
