Hi everybody!

i need help with my wd5000bmvw-11amcs0 (photo attached) i need heads and tool for head replacement or a same working disk for extract the heads.

Not to rain on your parade, but how exactly do you expect to extract the data after you replace heads (assuming by some miracle you pull that off)? If you think you're just going to plug it into the USB and copy files, you're in for a big surprise.

You'll need to most likely convert it to a SATA PCB, then you'll have to deal with the encryption issues.

no offense.

It will be more cheap to get it recovered from a PRO and chances of recovery will very good.

On the other hand, if you buy donor drive + head replacement kit chances of recovery is slim, it will not stop here you probably need a hardware based imager to image the drive after replacing heads, convert drive to SATA and encryption issues as well.

I would suggest to send it to a Pro.

However if you never did head replacement, I will recommend you to use a professional data recovery company for that. Good luck!
