Purchasing or renting PC-3000 Portable

I believe that PC-3000 Portable will allow me to recover my data from a failed SSD (see this thread for the details).

I've emailed a few companies for quotes and am currently waiting on the responses, but I'm guessing it will be about $10,000 CAD. I'm wondering if I have any other cheaper options such as a used system or renting one for a few days. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Sending the drive to a professional would be cheaper. We have some members here that are from Canada, also some in the US that could help you.

Since you're in Canada, send it to Recovery Force (https://www.recoveryforce.com).

For the simple SSD cases he usually only charges $350CAD flat rate. I'd demand a heck of a lot more than that to let you even touch my PC-3000 system. That's my cashflow lifeline.

Well then, your data is gone. So unless you plan on investing $10,000 and a few years of your life learning data recovery it's time to call it a loss and move on.

Nobody will rent $10,000 CAD worth equipment, besides the fact that you'll need something more than just an equipment. If you care about data safety, some DR companies offer data recovery on-site, so they can do it (if possible) at your place.

Luke ( from Recovery Force ) , is a honorable man , is easy to make a NDA term and you can talk to him about it.

I was under the impression that the encryption password was needed before the data could be accessed/imaged, if that's not needed to just clone it then I would definitely like to take a shot at your service!

The encryption password is tied to the software level encryption on the drive. Without it, we would be just getting a full sector-by-sector clone of encrypted data from one drive to another. That said, if all the sectors are encrypted, it is near impossible to know if we are reading real data or just random garbage thrown at us from the controller.

Well, I suppose the customer signs something recognizing he cannot complain in that case ?
