'm trying to find a donor for the following drive:

ST1000LM014
1EJ164-310
FW: SM36
SN: W7722...
DOM: 07/2015 (date code: 16044)

I actually only need it for a PCB donor since the NAND seems dead. However, every one I've tried so far was just far enough off that the PCB would reject the ROM code, refuse to spin up, and thus I can't clear the NAND. All the drives I've been able to find so far had DOM of Jan 2016 or later.

So I really need to find one that's closer to mid 2015 and has FW SM36.

Anyone have a drive they're willing to sell, or even just rent to me? I only need the PCB for a week and I can fix it and send it back when I'm done if you don't want to outright sell it.

Nope, none of those will work. I've tried a date as close as Nov 2015 (patient is July 2015) and the firmware is still too far off that the PCB won't attempt to spin up with the patient ROM. I'm sure any of these drives would be fine for heads, and technically they're "compatible" PCBs, but I need the FW in the NAND to be close enough to the donor ROM that it'll at least spin up and I can clear the NAND.

I really need to find one from the summer of 2015 or earlier. Does anyone have anything closer?

Hello Data Medics, do you have the support contract with AceLAB?

They have applied a special solution in one Kahuna case I had few days ago.

My donor board was with either a DIFFERENT FLASH NAND chip model.

I just moved the ROM but the drive was NOT spinning and BSY.

They injected a custom ROM , made others actions, and made the drive to spin. At that point they were able to issue the command to flush the cache.

No, my support is currently expired. You don't happen to have a copy of that custom ROM do you?
