Does anyone know how to set Maxtor Calypso DiamondMax Plus 9 SATA safe mode? I got IDE diagram for safe mode but not SATA

I could not get it working, i did set jumper as shown by Starling but the motor still spins.

Hmm, that's strange. I just tried it again. Works fine.

Electronic "noise" comes from the PCB, but motor does not start, for me.

Load loader (takes up to 1 minute), then motor starts and all OK.

Check the pins again, I see your pic is upside down from Starlings drawing.

i have tried replacing the sata pcb with ide pcb both having same processor chip works good for me .
