All I see on your eBay site are drives selling for AU$250.

After almost a dozen drives and near $500 your drive was the one ! You most like already know this but I'll share with you in case it helps. Your WD drive has the same first four segments on the pcb(which is what I used) and the same mdl and dcm. Different place of manufacture. Only half a dozen i/o errors on a drive now quiet for near eight years. Of course the only compatible drive came from the other side of the planet. All my irreplaceable artwork and early photos are back !

Cheers Tom for the drive. Had to cut off the U12/rom chip of my dead pcb and solder it on with jumper wires, not pretty but it worked. Would post a pic, but can't seem to post it on here. It's on my Flickr: rockeye84
