I think I may be dead and burried before SD starts to fix these problems. :rip:

Buyer beware, they just don't care anymore about product quality...

It is really frustrating, it seems, they just sold their ears to scrap.

Now, they only seem to concentrate on marketing, marketing and marketing. But they must understand, that you can't play very well with "Crap products-great marketing" strategy. Afterall, it's the product, for which customer is paying. They are doing everything to promote the products aggresively...advertisement, blogs, postings, partnerships, collaborations, offers, promotions, trainings, "Alex Soto", etc...these are all the thing their attention is drawn completely. If they steal codes from Acelab, why don't they steal just little bit of their policy? I have rerely seen Acelab giving such offers, trainings, partners hungry or such stuff, they are mainly focused towards making their products perfect, that's why, they don't need such practices (Leave some latest so called disputes), and that is the reason, they sell their products this much high price, but still peoples buy them happily. It could be a hint for salvationdata, if he wants to compete Ace in true manners.

Also, it seems, they are only aggressive towards Data Compass, where I personally think, that their Doctor Products has more possibilities. But, they seem to left their Doctor products Orphaned. They simply behave with them like unwanted-children. They just care hell about updating or removing bugs (even advertisement) for them. Where as I find, DC simply sucks (especially when you have such other great and masterpiece products to do the same job, with almost same money).

And in last, what is most frustrating, that it will not going to take more then a SINGLE dedicated business day per product to remove the basic bugs. Yes, the bugs are so basic so if they want, they can make their products atleast usable with only giving it a whole day to do it. (Anybody agrees with me here?). But why don't they still do it, is really out of mind.

But all I can say is, that if they will keep their strategy (selling crappy stuff with the help of greatly aggressive marketing), I don't see salvationdata a long runner in race. Soon, they may be out of market, and people will recall it as history for their bad business decisions.

for now, the message is just same as thatdellguy, Buyers beware, they just care fuck about their products and their customers.

I've been waiting over a year and a half for WD DR to be FIXED.
I would love to see all the improvements that have been suggested
But BUG FIXING shouldn't take this long.

I tested the new beta wd dr and it STILL has the same bugs .

Salvation are you listening, or just paying lip service ?

Maybe the R&D and tech people need to be reading the forums
instead of just the sales people.

After numerous msn conversations with SD I have the impression, that either
this company (or all chinese companies?) does not understand our way to think
respectively to work.

The second point is, the way SD works - reminds me on a pure technician, who
never learned the commercial backgrounds and is only focused on development
(but only out of his mind - not listening to others) and spends all his money,
time and efforts on "his" way.

Naturally all other parts of such a company lack of the necessary recourses
(time, money and listening to market AND especially to the existing customers).

The big boss has his "view" - is untouchable on an upper podest - and the staff
is scared to lose their jobs if not acting as desired - or when nagging to often
with complaints or requests from customers. (Such a boss does not like to hear
that "his "visions" should be corrected in any way.....)

Even the best staff - and outstanding technicians (Justin) - working to their
utmost - cant compensate this situation.

Conclusion:

- Complaining in a forum has NO RESULT AT ALL even not in their own forum!
Send your complaints in a msn chat - better send it to the manager of SD

- Dont do any further case studies:
Case studies are their key point of advertising - so if we insist to get the bugs
fixed before a case study is done, we might get a reaction.

That's absolutely true!!

I must admit falther has got true conclusion over the matter. It seems, that the "Boss" and Research Team really have fixed their way of doing things and are just stubbornly not willing to change it.

Well, another point could be noted here, that the biggest problem is that neither the Research Team, nor the Boss understand ENGLISH LANGUAGE. Yes, it may sound strange that the CEO of such international marketed company doesn't even understand Alphabets, but it's a fact. So maybe, it could be like whatever we are shouting, just doesn't go to him because of language barrier, and is lost in between the sales persons or other readers from SD.

It may be possible, that they simply don't know, what is being discussed about their products, because the English speaking peoples are not letting them know? So, a good option will be to make our way to put our words DIRECTLY into the ears of Research team/CEO somehow. So that, they can also understand, what the hell is going on.

Think...

It is nice to see the questions with the answers. They need to keep it up and post questions that don't yet have answers, so we can monitor the progress.

The new system is much better than it was before, but it still is not it....:

It is not transparent whether a new suggestion / complaint of a user is (immediately)
added to the list. Only those user who made them would know it - and perhaps dont
care immediately about that.

So if one has suggestions / complaints - watch carefully to find them on that list within
two days. I would also suggest to add the new suggestion / complaint within the SD
forum as a post too - that everyone can see it immediately.

For Hitachi Doctor there was a request from thatdellguy:

Put sa-a, sa-b, sa-c selection on update and backup modules page.
It gets seriously annoying to page back and forth all the time.

The reply from SD:

This will not be considered since we put them in only one tab for safe operation.
Most of our users have no problem with this.

***
Those users who agree with thatdellguy - please react (in SD forum) !

In my opinion such tools are made for pros who should know what they do.
There is no need for a "Vista" behavior (to protect dum users) of the SD software :(

SD is confused these days. The SD tools are not for the average home user. I would not give a SD doctor to my grandmother. If you want to see several confused home users visit the SD forum.

One thing that really pi$$e$ me off with Seagate Doctor is that IT chooses to power up the drive when the utility is started. I don't want it to, I want to decide when I power up my drive!

It seems like an easy fix...why they won't fix it is beyond me...These design flaws should have been ironed out three years ago so we could focus on real issues...

And so, we wait, and wait, and wait, for fixes and improvements that never come while SD makes new tools. Meanwhile, I am threatened to be removed from the SD forum because my posts have made them less money this year.

Wow, really?

For my part, they did eventually contact me about fixing the ROM-corrupting bug in the Seagate doctor, but it doesn't look like this fix has been implemented yet or mentioned to the HD-Doctor-owning-public to prevent them from corrupting their ROMs in the meantime...

Do the employees of SD have their head so far up there a$$ that they don't realize that it's already been done to the Maxtor SD doctor years before the Hitachi doctor was even developed. Why is SD so thick headed? Seriously, come with up a better lame excuse. Safe operation, my a$$. Why won't your company listen to anyone?

My suggestion:

Ability to read data thru the USB to the computer.

SD's response:

"This function will be added in before August, 2009"

I must be blind or something, can't find it anywhere.
