This activating of a tool is easily made, once when you know the procedure.
Registering on a specific web site - waiting a litle bit for the return email
with the activation key - enter the code the very first time you start the
software. Voila - done for ever....

And bear in mind that its only to be done once - other tools/manufacturers
request the activation every time after upgrading the software.

For assistance:
get the msn adresses of your SD contacts - sales + technic
look around in SalvationData forum, there is some information - you have the link !

How is it cumbersome?

It's simple, but sometimes takes a working day or so for them to validate your box and provide the licence key.

Plus you have to wait however many days to receive it from China, what's waiting one more day in the grand scheme of things?

If you're already this unhappy with their product just because of the registration, I think your opinion is only going to go downhill from here.

Got my HD Doctor Suite mid June. I made the registration for the first unit
- and then just changed the unit type and code on the same form for the
other three units. (So I did not have to fill them out all again with same details).

I received the activation codes within a minute after sending the requests.

But to be honest - with DataCompass - which I got close a year ago - it was
different ....

Looks like SD has changed / improved this activation system? Or was it because
I knew what and where to do? :| With DataCompass I had my troubles to find
my way....

Are you happy with the actual working of the HDD Doctor system?

Are they stable?

Are they do the job they claim that they can do???
